Rwanda host Cameroon in a friendly match ahead of 27th Men’s Senior Handball Africa Cup of Nation

The Rwanda Men’s senior handball national team is to host Cameroon today at 19h00, for a second international friendly match, marking a crucial step in the final preparations for the 27th Men’s Senior Handball Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2026).

As the countdown to the continental showpiece enters its final 10 days, Head Coach Hafedh Zouabi is looking to fine-tune his squad’s tactical discipline and physical readiness. It is a second international friendly match after a narrow defeat to Gabon (29-31).

Rwanda has been drawn into Group A, where they will face formidable opponents: Algeria, Nigeria and Zambia. Rwanda will open the tournament against Zambia on January 21st.

16 Men’s National teams are to compete in the 27th Men’s Senior Handball Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place from January 21st to 31st, 2026, with matches to be hosted at BK Arena and Petit Stade Amahoro.
