On Thursday, November 14th, Minister of Sports Mr. Richard Nyirishema, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Madame Nelly Mukazayire, met with the Rwanda Handball Federation Executive Committee, led by President Mr. Alfred TWAHIRWA. They discussed governance, staffing, development programs, upcoming competitions (ECAHF, IHF Trophy, CAN 2026), partnerships, and strategic goals.
The Ministry pledged support, highlighting the federation’s excellent progress, including national team performance, and advised continued focus on improvement.
Recently, Rwanda was crowned champions of the 2024 IHF Trophy Continental Phase, which concluded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Wednesday, November 6. Rwanda will represent Africa in the IHF Trophy Intercontinental Phase.
