Egypt beat Libya in African Junior Championship

The Egyptian U-20 team has opened its campaign in the 29th African Men’s Junior Handball Championship in Kigali, Rwanda with a 40-23 win over Libya in Group B.

The tournament is also a qualifying competition for the 2023 IHF Men’s Junior World Championship in Germany and Greece.

Both Egypt and Libya were aggressive in first 15 minutes but young pharaohs managed to turn the first half around to lead 19-14 at the break.

In the second half, the Egyptian team continued to dominate and sealed the match with a seventeen-goal margin.

Egypt will resume their games on Monday when they clash with Congo, whereas Libya will take on Algeria.

Group B consists of Egypt, Algeria, Libya and Congo.
