Africa Youth Handball Championship: Rwanda seeks unbeaten run in group stages

The Rwanda National Handball Team will be keen to beat Egypt today at the ongoing continental Handball competitions in Kigali, and maintain a perfect run in the group stages of the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) African Men’s Youth Championship 2022.

The game gets underway at 7 pm at the BK Arena.

On Tuesday night, Rwanda won its opening game when it beat Madagascar 53-32, and the team will be hoping to build on that good start.

Speaking to the Newtimes, Anaclet Bagirishya the Head Coach of the national team expressed optimism for winning the Egypt game, saying his players are ready for the challenge.

He however said there should be no room for complacency as they go for the game.
“I have spoken with my players and they all understand why this (against Egypt) is crucial, and we should not be complacent,” he noted.

The games are being held at the BK Arena with the participation of 8 teams from different African countries.

The teams were placed in 2 groups. Group A includes Morocco, Libya, Uganda and Burundi and group B includes the teams of Rwanda, Egypt, Algeria and Madagascar.

Today, besides the Rwanda Vs Egypt game, there will be more matches Algerian Vs Madagascar at 1:00 p.m, Burundi Vs Libya at 3:00 p.m, and Morocco Vs Uganda 5:00 p.m.
