Egypt’s Junior Handball team won the African Championship in Rwanda after defeating its Algerian counterpart, 35-15 in the final played on Saturday, the 27th August.
The young pharaohs remained the better side from the start and led with 16-06 at the break.
The 35-15 win over Algeria meant Egyptian team are crowned the champions of the Men’s African Juniors Handball Championship for a record 13th time in 19 participations.
They qualified for the final by defeating their Angolan counterpart, 24-33, in the framework of the semi-finals of the African Championship.
The bronze medal match saw Tunisia beating Angola 24-22 at the Bk Arena.
All four top teams secured their places in the next summer’s World Junior Handball Championship to be jointly hosted in Germany and Greece.
