Rwanda has lost 20-43 to Angola in their first group A match of the 29th African Men’s Junior Handball Championship currently taking place in Kigali.
The tournament acts as a qualifying competition for the 2023 International Handball Federation’s Men’s Junior World Championship taking place in Germany and Greece.
The opening match between Rwanda and Angola held in Kigali Arena following a joyful opening Ceremony on Saturday.
On Sunday, Egypt will play Libya in Group B opening game at 4 pm before Algeria take on Congo at 6 pm.
Rwanda national team will face Morocco on Monday before wrapping up their group stage campaign against Tunisia on Wednesday.
Eight participating teams have been grouped in two pools.
Hosts Rwanda are placed in Group A alongside Tunisia, Morocco and Angola, whereas Group B consists of Egypt, Algeria, Congo Brazzaville and Libya.
